This workshop is geared toward children ages 7-12, but anyone who enjoys dance is welcome at attend. Led by dance instructor and arts education advocate Nicole Manvel Walls, Winter Garden Community Dance Day is a chance for dancers and non-dancers alike to share in the joy of movement. This workshop also provides an excellent opportunity for parents to see if their children enjoy dance enough to register them for classes and which type of dance they prefer. Winter Garden Community Dance Day will incorporate movement games with a bit of dance technique. No prior dance experience is necessary. Participants should wear comfortable clothing to move in (i.e. sweat pants or yoga pants, no jeans or skirts), and should wear dance shoes if they have them, or are welcome to dance barefoot. All dancers will be given a goodie bag for participating. This is a free workshop, but registration is strongly encouraged.
